Links and their stories.
Wiki I found which seeks to document the way all file types work. Got curious while watching some youtube and looked up "yaz0" (file type for Nintendo) and found this. DEF (mega def) gonna use this in future. Got some evil plans for her.
Mega list of photoshoots from military prototype uniforms. If you mess with the search, you can find even more. Found this on a Youtube Short (yeah yeah stick me on the cross) of a fashion Youtuber talking abt this. Apperantly some guy curated the works for a photobook. Sounds cool tbh. The story is that these are all declassified photoshoots for different military wear uniforms for USA military. Tons of crazy shit in here. One interesting thing I find about this is the tons and tons of photos taken on 4x5 photo. If you're a loser and don't know what that is, imagine those old timey photos where they guy gets behind the black blanket attached to the accordian with a lens. Yeah these photos were made with that, which I find super crazy. I mean, it's not unheard of for people to use large format photos in the 1960s, but there's a lot of them and even they are in color! Maybe there are prints, but the switching between color and noncolor maybe makes me think this is not so, unless there are multiple prints for different purposes. There are other photos taken directly on 35mm slide film, so there is a chance they are just prints. Either way crazy as fuck. Also, who are these models? Are they still alive? You can tell when they stop being from the 50s-60s when there are pictures of nonwhite people. One of the models looks like a band director at a highschool near me. It's weird. I have so many questions. The BEST part of this all is that, because they are from the US government, they are all public domain/creative commons! Eat your fucking heart out!
You probably know this Qnep from Sengoku Turb, but also Tamagotchi. I definitely think this is one of the websites of all time. Tons to explore. It's all in Japanese.
A short story back-and-forth epistolary with Adrien Brody. Not really, I think. I can't remember how I found it. I know I found it a few years ago from writing this (September 2024). I was looking for more ergodic and web fiction to learn about. It felt like I knew everything. Somehow I found this. I could've swore that I found it from a Wikipedia article, but I can't find that now. I think I had got it confused with "My Boyfriend Came Back From the War", another cool web art. I probably found it (Adrien Brody) on some non-wiki article about net art. I read only a little bit of it yet. Super cool tho, and I def have to check out more muumuuhouse stuff.
More Jaco Pastorius bass transcriptions
A transcription of bass and drum lines from some Jaco Pastorius compositions. Was gonna use this to jam with a friend, but it never panned out.
"Partitions", which I believe is French for transcriptions (or means the same thing in this context) of various jazz tunes. Website from the titular Frederico Monino. Found from looking up Teen Town bass transcriptions.
A history of the guns used by St. Louis police. I was gonna use it for a story, but idk anymore. Happy I found this.
Website for a Japan-only DSiWare puzzle game I found whilst browsing the Spriters Resource. It gives an authentic late-2000's vibe. Also, PLEASE look at the other lukplus games! You will not be dissapointed. UPDATE: Now sends to a Wayback Machine archive due to link rot. Also, in the spirit of archiving, I'll leave the original text up, but I think I actually learned about Coropata from a color palette on Lospec and looked up the game later on tSR
(Links to a Wayback Machine archive) Some weird and mysterious Japanese forum. I have no idea what it is or why it is. I can't even remember how I found it. I just hope it's not tied to Nazis. If someone finds out it is, please tell me (@graph100 on discord) and I'll remove it.
A cute little website on how to build an ocarina. Also available in Japanese. Remember to sign the guestbook!
Art collection of some really weird (cool) shit (good). It's art from the same series that the image associated with Tomino's Hell is from.
A huge collection of various RPG Maker games. Came across this on some iceberg image I saw on youtube. The image quality was shit and I could barely make out the link, but someone in the comments could. The iceberg was of RPG Maker games, but based on the actual content of the site it went from known to obscure instead of easy to disturbing.
Some SIGGRAPH series about computer graphics. I don't know if I'll ever use it and it's definitely outdated but cool nonetheless.
Kropotkin's "The Conquest of Bread" translated into toki pona.
Website of a games company. Haven't played any of them, but they look cute. Came across their games while browsing the spriters resource.
