Talk about textual! I think this version really spells it out for you. Where in the Lialina original I can understand how she felt through the harsh textures and fast, striking sentences2, Freya Birren takes to the linear medium of video and samples the 1996 classic into a more modern, post-9/11 experience. She keeps a sense of nonlinearity that Lialina had in the original and makes a greater use of the space Birren gave herself, but takes much more time to spell out how she feels. This could have easily came off as ham-fisted, but I think it is a welcome suppliment for a medium (sticky notes) without the flexibility of CSS and HTML.
