It was an overcast and misty day and I had left home and was approaching the downtown area on foot. I live in a small town, so this is mainly a residential area. In the dream, I knew that a kinda poor and mismanaged guy lived there and there was a whole bunch of shit around the year, but some of it wasn't even in his yard and my judgement told me he didn't really care. I sneakily walked along a metal fence and looked down to find anything cool. It was mainly cigarettes and stuff, but I found a shit ton of old coins and square-shaped poker chips, which I thought was cool. I shoved all the stuff in my pocket and walked along to find more. My dad caught me and he got mad that I was stealing things but I tried to show him what cool stuff I found as if I was an archaeologist or something. One of the things I pulled out of my pocket was this weird rolled-up piece of metal. Upon unrolling it, a very clear and well made impression of a face and some text was on there. I identified the likeness to a once-famous actor and the text was the name of an old musical (the name of the musical was entirely dream-made, it was composed of two 3-letter words that didn't have any meaning but met english phonotactics). I also looked at another "coin" in my pile that had a more rudimentary style of facial-impression. I concluded that this was an artifact of a once-popular method of creating portraits in which the artist would hold a coin to cover the face of the portraitee in their vision and create an impression like that. I also found this weird old picture that was almost in black-and-white but it was printed with green and red ink on white paper. I then figured out that I could unfold the paper to see a larger image and I saw that it was a very old but very well made photograph of a crowd of people next to a tree.
